Differences in carrot pollen fertility in dependence on the localization of flowers on the plant

, : Differences in carrot pollen fertility in dependence on the localization of flowers on the plant. Bulletin de l' Academie Polonaise des Sciences 21(12): 831-935

In glasshouse plants the lowest pollen stainability (91.8%) was found in the flowers of the main umbel; it was higher (93.4%) in first-order umbels and highest (95.4%) in second-order umbels. In plants growing in the field the least fertile pollen was produced by third-order umbels and the most fertile by first-order umbels and the main umbel.
