Digestible and metabolizable energy content of varieties of milo for rats

, : Digestible and metabolizable energy content of varieties of milo for rats. Journal of Animal Science 36(5): 874-876

Diets containing 50% of one of six varieties of milo were each given to 3 groups of 4 rats for a 4-day adjustment and 4-day test periods. The varieties of milo ARK 61002, AKS 614, RS 617, RS 608, TE 66 and ARK 62002 had tannin contents of 0.45, 1.08, 0.55, 0.84, 0.88 and 0.76% and average amino acid availabilities as estimated with chicks of 50, 83, 60, 91, 89 and 87%.
