Effect of foliar application of urea to winter wheat on photosynthetic intensity and nitrogen metabolism

, : Effect of foliar application of urea to winter wheat on photosynthetic intensity and nitrogen metabolism. Fiziologiya i Biokhimiya Kul' turnykh Rastenii 5(3): 232-238

Foliar sprays of 30 kg N/ha as urea applied to winter wheat at the earing and/or milk-ripe stages decreased photosynthetic intensity initially, but markedly increased it later on. Most of the applied urea was absorbed and assimilated by plants shown by a 1.6-fold increase in N contents 12 h after application; the remaining urea was not assimilated and was found in different organs at harvest and also in the grains.
