Effect of growth hormone, prolactin or both on N balance of rats; a synergic effect

, : Effect of growth hormone, prolactin or both on N balance of rats; a synergic effect. Annales de la Nutrition et de l' Alimentation 27(1): 1-10

During 3 successive periods of 10 days 5 male Wistar rats weighing initially from 290 to 320 g were given water freely and a synthetic feed, also, daily during the middle 4 days of each period, 50 Evans Units, equivalent to 2 IU, bovine growth hormone intraperitoneally, then 250 IU of sheep prolactin by muscle and finally a combination of both. From the amount of feed eaten the intake of N was calculated, and N was estimated in urine and faeces.
