Effects of feeding different host plants on the larval and post-larval development of Pericallia ricini F

, : Effects of feeding different host plants on the larval and post-larval development of Pericallia ricini F. Madras Agricultural Journal 59(6): 324-328

Larvae of the polyphagous Arctiid Pericallia ricini (F.) were fed in the laboratory on six food-plants. On the basis of larval growth and survival and the percentage emergence, size and fecundity of the adults, castor was the most suitable. In order of decreasing suitability, cotton, gingelly Moringa, agathi and banana followed.
