Efficiency of drainage

, : Efficiency of drainage. Voprosy Ekonomiki (1): 31-43

Investigations in 47 kolkhozy in the White Russian forest region showed an average capital expenditure for drainage of 552 roubles per ha. which is contrasted with additional returns of 53 roubles per ha. and year. The costs for drainage installation have, however, risen steeply in recent years. Evidence shows that a proper utilization of these investments requires the farm to be provided with an appropriate supply of machines and fertilizers.
