Efficiency of utilization of nitrogen and phosphorus by Yorkshire fog (Holcus lanatus)

, : Efficiency of utilization of nitrogen and phosphorus by Yorkshire fog (Holcus lanatus). Proceedings of the New Zealand Grassland Association 35(2): 288-302

In a pot trial, seedlings of 7 ecotypes of Yorkshire fog and of Massey Basyn were given 10, 60 or 180 kg P and 0, 50 or 100 kg N/ha initially and again at half the initial rates at 22, 36, 47 and 59 days after transplanting. Plants were harvested on days 46 and 67. Yields were highest for Massey Basyn and a Rotorua ecotype. Shoots contained 2.27-3.22% N and 0.32-0.40% P in DM for the 2nd harvest.
