Evaluation of dried pea cultivars

, : Evaluation of dried pea cultivars. Irish Journal of Agricultural Research 13(3): 301-306

In trials in 1969-72, 17 cultivars of dried pea including blues and marrowfats were evaluated and compared with Pauli (main blue standard) and Maro (marrowfat standard). Most of the large blue cultivars tested had no advantage in maturity or yield over Pauli. 2 small-seeded cultivars, Vedette and Proco, however, gave good results. Proco in particular proved promising as it matured 10-13 days before Pauli and gave a significantly higher yield.
