Evaluation of the phenotype of plus-trees

, : Evaluation of the phenotype of plus-trees. Metsanduslikud Uurimused 9: 5-13

The following formula was developed for assessing plus-trees of Picea abies : Zv 3 (D/Dv)2 X (0.39 H + 0.34)/a, where D is d.b.h. in cm, Dv is crown width in m, H is tree height in m, a is age in years, and Zv is m.a.i. in m3/ha for a stand in which the mean tree has the dimensions of the plus-tree under study. For plus-trees having a crown narrower than 2.2 m, the formula was modified : Zv = D2(0.39 H + 0.34)/5a.
