Further investigations on hyperlipaemia (hyperlipoproteinaemia) in ponies

, : Further investigations on hyperlipaemia (hyperlipoproteinaemia) in ponies. Een nader onderzoek naar hyperlipemie hyperlipoproteinemie bij ponies: 94

Hyperlipaemia is accompanied by increased utilization of deposited body fat and liver damage. There was an increase in total lipid concentration in the blood, mainly due to an increase in triglycerides, while the increase in phospholipids and cholesterol was very small. Most affected horses showed metabolic acidosis, attributable to increased serum lactate resulting from disturbed glycogenesis.
