Herbicide influence on the nitrifying power of soils in Eastern Sicily

, : Herbicide influence on the nitrifying power of soils in Eastern Sicily. Rivista di Agronomia 8(2/3): 143-152

Out of 30 commonly used herbicides studied, none adversely affected nitrifying organisms at normal recommended rates. Even at medium and high rates only nitrofen, aminotriazole, simazine + aminotriazole and pentanochlor showed toxic effects which might be expected to damage soil fertility.
