High temperature-induced changes in germination, seedling vigour and the metabolic activities in rice seeds

, : High temperature-induced changes in germination, seedling vigour and the metabolic activities in rice seeds. Biologia Plantarum 15(2): 65-71

Treating germinating seeds of rice at 50 deg C for 30 min during the early stages of imbibition and then returning them to the control temperature of 30 deg promoted seedling growth in terms of root and shoot length and increased water uptake, respiration and the activities of alpha -amylase, ATPase and phytase compared with the controls.
