Higher nervous activity and lactation

, : Higher nervous activity and lactation. Fiziol i biokhimiya laktatsii: 38-58

Neural regulation of lactation and milk secretion in cows of different nervous types is reviewed. Physiological mechanisms concerned in the inhibition of milk let-down in stress situations are discussed. Milk yield is low in cows of weak nervous type due to inhibition of let-down. The volume of the cisternal fraction of the milk yield is related to nervous type.
