Histologic, immunofluorescent, and electron microscopic studies of equine dermis cells infected with an equine adenovirus

, : Histologic, immunofluorescent, and electron microscopic studies of equine dermis cells infected with an equine adenovirus. American Journal of Veterinary Research 35(3): 431-436

Equine dermis tissue culture cells were inoculated with an equine adenovirus isolate. Eosinophilic inclusion bodies developed in 24 hours, occurred only within the nucleus, and, by 36 hours, had coalesced to form a dense central mass that later became obscured by the development of intensely basophilic material. The pattern of immunofluorescent viral antigen development closely resembled that of eosinophilic inclusion development.
