Hygienic, breeding and veterinary measures for the prevention of contagious diseases of fish

, : Hygienic, breeding and veterinary measures for the prevention of contagious diseases of fish. Novoe v lechenii profilaktiki infektionnykh boleznei zhivotnykh: 209-222

Intensification of fish farming was often accompanied by a weakening of the resistance of the fish to disease and often involved the creation of environmental conditions favourable for diseases. Therefore it was essential to improve the stock of fish and to introduce appropriate veterinary and hygienic measures. Special problems of carp farming, particularly when carp are inbred, were inflammation of the swimming bladder and ectoparasite infestations.
