Induction and termination of pupal diapause in Sarcophaga (Diptera: Sarcophagidae)

, : Induction and termination of pupal diapause in Sarcophaga (Diptera: Sarcophagidae). Biological Bulletin 142(1): 11-24

Factors affecting the induction, termination and length of pupal diapause in Sarcophaga argyrostoma (R.-D.), S. crassipalpis Macq. and three strains of S. bullata Parker were investigated in the laboratory in Illinois. Parent female flies were maintained at 25 deg C in all tests, larvae at 17, 25 or (in one series) 28 deg C and pupae at 17 or 25 deg C or at combinations of these temperatures.
