Isolation of Salmonella from sparrows captured in horse corrals

, : Isolation of Salmonella from sparrows captured in horse corrals. American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 22(5): 672-674

Salmonella was present in the intestinal contents of 21 of 206 sparrows (Passer domesticus) captured in horse corrals. The serotype isolated most frequently was S. good (from 9 birds), followed by S. montevideo (8 birds), S. newport (4 birds), and S. typhimurium phage-type 29 (1 bird).
