Morphological studies of flower bud initiation and development in bulbous iris stored at various temperatures

, : Morphological studies of flower bud initiation and development in bulbous iris stored at various temperatures. Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science 98(1): 54-61

exposing them to 32.2 deg C of bulb lifting, ethylene treatment and storage temperatures on the earliness and uniformity of flowering in the cvs Wedgwood and Ideal were studied by analysing microscopic sections of the growing points at regular intervals. The results indicated that variations in field growing conditions greatly influenced the maturity of bulbs at lifting and thus the effectiveness of subsequent heat-curing treatments.
