Pathological anatomy study of the action of royal jelly on homologous bone medulla in experimental atherosclerosis

, : Pathological anatomy study of the action of royal jelly on homologous bone medulla in experimental atherosclerosis. Ciencia y Abejas 1(1): 9-17

Atheromas were caused in rabbits by feeding a hyperlipemic diet. To investigate the effect of royal jelly, 15 mg per 1000 g of the diet, was injected intramuscularly daily for 48 days. Royal jelly had virtually no effect. In a second test, royal jelly was injected for 61 days after the feeding of the hyperlipemic diet. An unexpected effect in this test was the protection of the liver from fatty infiltration, or cirrhosis..
