The author reports a study of 1682 sheep of different breeds, showing positive reactions in the johnin test, 477 of which were studied by subserial sections and multiple staining procedures; 46 johnin reactors with clinical symptoms were studied bacteriologically. The author describes in detail the lesions in the intestine and mesenteric lymph nodes in advanced cases of paratuberculosis.
