Isocil and lenacil caused 30% decreases in the synthesis and level of RNA and DNA in sensitive weeds but not in sugar-beet and resistant weeds. 6-Methyluracil was an important breakdown product but both herbicides were persistent and >80% of the compounds were detectable in sensitive species after 1 month.
