Physical and biological processes in the drying of seed

, : Physical and biological processes in the drying of seed. Seed Science and Technology 1(3): 613-643

Research of biological and engineering interest on seed drying is reviewed. Moisture content is defined and reference made to standard methods of determination and the differing properties of freshly harvested, re-moistened and frozen seeds. Relationships between moisture content and r.h. and the rate of moisture transfer from seed to air are discussed.
