Rate of passage of food and its relation to digestibility of nutrients in Murrah buffaloes and Hariana cattle

, : Rate of passage of food and its relation to digestibility of nutrients in Murrah buffaloes and Hariana cattle. Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 41(11): 1026-1031

Three adult Murrah buffalo bulls and 3 Haryana bulls were fed on wheat straw and groundnut cake with minerals and vitamin A. Rate of passage, by the method of Balch (Abst. 1138, Vol. 21), and digestibility were estimated. The first collection of faeces was 14 h after the stained particles had been given then at intervals of 6, 8, 12 and 18 h after different periods of days subsequently.
