Reduction of apple scab fungus inoculum with fungicides

, : Reduction of apple scab fungus inoculum with fungicides. Plant Disease Reporter 59(11): 890-894

The production of Venturia inaequalis conidia, conidial germination and available inoculum (no. conidia X % germination) were determined on apple trees sprayed with water and with 5 fungicides (captan, dodine, benomyl, NIA 9102 and a Zn++ maneb complex + dinocap) applied singly and in series. All the fungicides reduced spore germination. Benomyl and dodine reduced spore numbers.
