Relationship between weight and 40K count in steers

, : Relationship between weight and 40K count in steers. Journal of Animal Science 36(1): 37-40

For 2-week periods 36 Aberdeen Angus X Hereford bullocks got 4 diets with different K contents; each bullock got each diet for 2 weeks. The relationship between 40K count loss and weight loss during starvation for 24 h was evaluated by regression analysis. At the end of each of the feeding periods the cattle were weighed and 40K was counted before and after 24 h without feed. The mean weight loss during starvation, 22.8 kg, was similar for all diets.
