Relative food preference of Dysdercus koenigii (Hemiptera: Pyrrhocoridae)

, : Relative food preference of Dysdercus koenigii (Hemiptera: Pyrrhocoridae). Annals of the Entomological Society of America 65(3): 762-763

The relative feeding preference of Dysdercus koenigii (F.) for three malvaceous plants, namely, hollyhock (Althaea rosea), gurhal (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) and cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), in the light and dark was studied in the laboratory in India. In both light and dark conditions, hollyhock was the most attractive, followed by gurhal and cotton in that order.
