Seasonal variations in blood composition in high and low potassium type Marwari sheep

, : Seasonal variations in blood composition in high and low potassium type Marwari sheep. Journal of Agricultural Science 77(Part 1): 37-41

Blood samples were obtained at monthly intervals for 12 months from 8 high potassium (HK) and 8 low potassium (LK) wethers of the Marwari breed kept at Jodhpur. The HK animals usually had higher PCV, r.b.c. count, Hb, MCHC and plasma inorganic phosphorus values than the LK animals, but the mean cell volume was higher in the LK group. There was no difference in the plasma specific conductance. PCV, r.b.c. and Hb values differed considerably from animal to animal within each group.
