Soluble carbohydrates in soybean

, : Soluble carbohydrates in soybean. Canadian Journal of Botany 52(12): 2447-2452

Gas-liquid chromatography indicated that soluble carbohydrates from 4- to 6-week-old soyabean plants contained high levels of O-methylinositol, glucose, fructose and sucrose and low levels of myo-inositol and 2 unidentified components. At the 6-week harvest O-methylinositol was the main soluble carbohydrate in leaves, petioles and stems and the next most prevalent carbohydrate after sucrose in the roots.
