Some drugs tested against experimental dicrocoeliasis in sheep

, : Some drugs tested against experimental dicrocoeliasis in sheep. Trudy Uzbekskogo Nauchno Issledovatel' skogo Veterinarnogo Instituta Bolezni sel' skokhozyaistvennykh zhivotnykh 22: 106-109

Eighteen lambs on a farm in the Bukhara region of the Uzbek SSR were each infected with 3,000 Dicrocoelium metacercariae and were treated 3 months later. Dicresyl ester at 0.42 g/kg body-weight intubated orally as a 5% aqueous solution gave a reduction in infection intensity of 38% at autopsy one month later, but cured none. Bilevon-M at 1 g/animal (one tablet) reduced intensities by 19% only.
