Some socio-economic aspects of farming in the Nuba Mountains, Western Sudan

, : Some socio-economic aspects of farming in the Nuba Mountains, Western Sudan. Eastern Africa Journal of Rural Development 7(1/2): 157-176

This paper related to a survey conducted in April/May 1970 in 5 different localities of the Nuba Mountains - Dilling, Lagawa, Kadugli, Rashad and Abu Gubeiha. At these centres, a number of villages were selected randomly, as were farmers within the villages. The survey included a total of 282 villages and 2,509 farmers. The data collected and analyzed is to be regarded with great caution, as many farmers were suspicious, uninterested or refused to participate.
