Studies on homologous and heterologous antibody responses to infections with Anaplasma marginale and A. centrale using the indirect fluorescent antibody and capillary tube agglutination tests

, : Studies on homologous and heterologous antibody responses to infections with Anaplasma marginale and A. centrale using the indirect fluorescent antibody and capillary tube agglutination tests. Zeitschrift für Tropenmedizin und Parasitologie 24(1): 86-95

Antibody titres were studied in 12 cattle over a period of 19 months. Antibody response was not correlated with parasitaemia. After reinfection, titres rose in only one animal. Cattle could evidently harbour both species of Anaplasma for some time.
