Studies on host immunity to Trichinella spiralis following the application of benzimidazoles. I. Development of immunity during the intestinal and early migration stage of invasion

, : Studies on host immunity to Trichinella spiralis following the application of benzimidazoles. I. Development of immunity during the intestinal and early migration stage of invasion. Biologia, Bratislava, B, Zoologia 2 28(5): 411-416

The development of immunity to Trichinella spiralis in mice was investigated by administration of anthelmintics (parbendazole at 100 mg/kg body-weight or thiabendazole at 40 mg/kg) at various periods after a primary infection of 300 larvae, prior to giving a challenge dose. It was shown that the intestinal phase of infection had the greatest effect on the development of immunity.
