Studies on irradiated guara

, : Studies on irradiated guara. Nucleus 15(1): 16-22

Germination percentage was reduced and seedling mortality increased following irrigation of Cyamopsis tetragonoloba with doses of 100-150 kR. and at 200kR no germination took place. Many morphological variants were observed, including albino plants which later produced green leaves or else died. Cytological effects were most frequent at 100kR and included translocations, laggards and chromosome bridges. Pollen fertility and grain yield were reduced with increasing doses.
