Studies on the outbreak of the soft-rot disease of Chinese cabbage by Erwinia aroideae (Towns.) Holl

, : Studies on the outbreak of the soft-rot disease of Chinese cabbage by Erwinia aroideae (Towns.) Holl. Reports of the Institute for Agricultural Research Tohoku University 23: 17-52

Some of this information has been noticed The disease started at the base of the outer petiole in contact with the soil, and E. aroideae was easily isolated from the lesion by the dilution plate method, even though scarcely detectable in the surrounding soil. Bacillus polymyxa was frequently isolated from the soil and caused a rot of the parenchyma; it produced no disease in the field because temps. were unsuitable.
