Studies on the oviposition of the wheat bulb fly (Leptohylemyia coarctata Fallen) (Diptera: Anthomyiidae)
Wetzel, T.; Mende, F., 1972: Studies on the oviposition of the wheat bulb fly (Leptohylemyia coarctata Fallen) (Diptera: Anthomyiidae). Archiv fur Pflanzenschutz 8(2): 125-132
Investigations on oviposition by females of Hylemya (Leptohylemyia) coarctata (Fall.) at three places in East Germany in 1966-69 revealed that oviposition took place in late July and early August, occasionally extending into September. Most eggs were laid in a period of 2-3 weeks in July-August. Egg density was highest in fields of potato and beet. Little or no oviposition took place in fields of winter wheat, oats or lucerne.
