Studies on the oyster fungus Pleurotus oestreatus. II. Effect of the pH value and a fungicide treatment on mycelial development and formation of the fruiting body

, : Studies on the oyster fungus Pleurotus oestreatus. II. Effect of the pH value and a fungicide treatment on mycelial development and formation of the fruiting body. Champignon (155): 9-13

In laboratory tests the optimum pH of the nutrient substrate for mycelial growth was 6.5. Below pH 5 and above pH 7 the mycelium developed much more slowly. On the other hand, there was no connection between pH of the substrate and fruiting body formation. Of 3 fungicides, TMTD at 0.2% depressed mycelial growth most whereas benomyl at 0.05 or 0.1% or Polyram Combi at 0.15 or 0.25% had very little effect.
