Studies on the pathogens of mulberry dwarf disease. II. An electron microscopic study of the causal agents of mulberry dwarf diseases of the common and mosaic types

, : Studies on the pathogens of mulberry dwarf disease. II. An electron microscopic study of the causal agents of mulberry dwarf diseases of the common and mosaic types. Scientia Sinica 17(3): 428-434

Thread-like particles isolated from mulberry trees infected with common dwarf disease resembled closely those associated with mulberry yellow dwarf disease. Coexistent with them were filaments 80-90 A diam. with a helical substructure. In ultrathin sections of phloem of diseased trees mycoplasmas were also observed. Similar particles and filaments were identified in trees infected with mosaic dwarf disease but mycoplasmas were always absent.
