White Leghorn chicks were dosed with 10-100 thousand organisms of S. typhimurium, S. saintpaul, or S. kentucky. Blindness developed in half the chicks infected with S. typhimurium and in 4 of 10 infected with S. saintpaul. The blindness was observed in chicks infected with S. kentucky.
