, : Studies on the pathology of some crop pests of South India. Mysore Journal of Agricultural Science 3(1): 86-98

A systematic survey of the incidence of diseases in insect pests of crop plants was carried out in 1963-68 in the Indian States of Madras and Mysore. Bacterial diseases (caused by Bacillus, Pseudomonas and Serratia spp,) were commonest after the dry summer months, and fungus diseases (caused by Aspergillus, Beauveria and Metarrhizium spp.) after the winter months, when the relative humidity was high.
