Rice Culture 12035 was transplanted at spacings of (a) 10 X 10, (b) 10 X 15 or (c) 15 X 15 cm and was given 60-120 kg N/ha in 3 equal split dressings at transplanting, tillering and panicle initiation. Paddy yields increased from 4.92 t/ha in (c) to 5.64 t/ha in (a), mainly due to a corresponding increase in the number of panicles/m2 with decrease in spacing.Other references
