Studies on the persistence of triazines by bioassay in the laboratory and the field

, : Studies on the persistence of triazines by bioassay in the laboratory and the field. Symposium on Herbicides and the Soil: 192-201

Bioassays carried out using maize, mustard, oats and rape as test crops on soils consisting of 32% clay, 26% silt, 42% sand, 18% limestone and 0.4% o.m. and of pH 8 showed that the residual activity of GS 13 529 (terbuthylazine) at 1.5 and 3 kg a.i./ha and GS 14 259 (terbumeton) at 3 and 6 kg a.i./ha was highest on rotary-cultivated plots, somewhat lower on direct-sown plots and lowest on ploughed plots.
