Studies on the physiology of hyacinth bulbs (Hyacinthus orientalis L.). IV. Hormonal regulation of induction of roots and bulblets in Hyacinthus orientalis L. grown in culture

, : Studies on the physiology of hyacinth bulbs (Hyacinthus orientalis L.). IV. Hormonal regulation of induction of roots and bulblets in Hyacinthus orientalis L. grown in culture. Plant Science Letters 2(6): 373-376

Hyacinth bulblets Lady Derby, a few months old, were cultured on Murashige and Skoog's medium in 0.6% agar in the presence of different concentrations of auxin (NAA) or cytokinin (BA). The regeneration of roots and bulblets was dependent on the levels of growth substances added to the basic medium. The best combination for bulblet initiation was 1 p.p.m. of NAA and 10 p.p.m. of BA.
