Studies on the polymorphism of erythrocyte catalase isozyme and haemoglobin in ponies

, : Studies on the polymorphism of erythrocyte catalase isozyme and haemoglobin in ponies. Journal of Agricultural Science, Japan 20(1): 23-29

Erythrocyte catalase isozyme types were studied in 599 Shetland, Hackney and Welsh Mountain ponies and native horses from Thailand, Malaya, Japan (Hokkaido, Kiso, Tsushima, Tokara, Miyako and Yonaguni) and Korea (Cheju and Taejung), and Hb types were studied in 547 of the above-mentioned animals. There were 3 catalase types, F, M and S, which were controlled by 2 autosomal, co-dominant genes, CatF and CatS.
