Studies on the possibilities of applying herbicides to fodder beet grown on heavy soils

, : Studies on the possibilities of applying herbicides to fodder beet grown on heavy soils. Archiv fur Acker und Pflanzenbau und Bodenkunde 16(1): 53-58

In field trials at 2 sites in 1968-9, in addition to the normal field cultivation, Betanil (propham + proximpham + diuron), FL91 (propham + proximpham + lenacil), each at 8 or 10 kg/ha, and pyrazon at 4 kg/ha, were applied to fodder-beet pre-emergence, or phenmedipham at 6 l/ha was applied post-emergence. Yields of roots and tops were increased by herbicides compared with yields in untreated plots, the increases in root yields being significant in 1968.
