Studies on the potato tuber worm, Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller) (Lepidoptera:Gelechiidae)

, : Studies on the potato tuber worm, Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller) (Lepidoptera:Gelechiidae). Bulletin de la Societe Entomologique d' Egypte 1972; 55: 185-192

The growing of potatoes is increasing in Egypt, and studies were carried out there in the laboratory on the bionomics of Phthorimaea operculella (Zell.), which has caused serious damage to this and other solanaceous crops during the last two decades. Rearing was carried out at room temperature on potato tubers, and details are given of the duration of the stages at different temperatures.
