, : Studies on the potentialities of hybrid maize fodder for livestock. Indian Veterinary Journal 49(6): 619-622

The 2 new hybrid maize Ganga-2 and Ganga-5 gave yields of 31.2 and 41.94 t fresh fodder, 8.96 and 12.26 t DM, 649 and 761 kg CP, 34 and 35 kg Ca and 18 and 19 kg P/ha, respectively. Data on the chemical composition of the 2 fodders are given. The digestibilities of fodder DM, CP and NFE were higher in Ganga-2 than in Ganga-5, but those of other extract and CF were higher in Ganga-5. The DM of Ganga-2 contained 4.2% DCP and 67.3% TDN, compared with 2.97 and 61.2%, respectively, in Ganga-5.
