Lists 7 species of Diptera and 5 species of Hymenoptera recovered from L. dispar during outbreaks in Rumania in 1965-68, of which the Diptera were numerically more important, and gives notes on the 8 principal species, including the specific parasite Sturmia scutellata, which parasitizes female larvae much more frequently than male larvae and thus provides an added degree of population control; Brachmeria intermedia, found more commonly as a primary pupal parasite than as a hyperparasite; and the polyphagous pupal parasites Pimpla instigator and Theronia atalantae, associated with the presence of a rich undergrowth.
