Results of milkability tests in Lower Austria were studied to assess the effect on them of various factors (test method, yield/milking, and number of lactations). The material comprised tests with quarter-milking machines on 3463 and 514 dams, and tests with ordinary milking machines on 2167 and 606 daughters, of Austrian Simmental and Austrian Brown bulls respectively.
