Studies on the process of digestion in the fowl: dry matter and total nitrogen

, : Studies on the process of digestion in the fowl: dry matter and total nitrogen. British Poultry Science 13(5): 495-502

Four pelleted diets based on soya bean meal to give 4.40% N, field bean (Vicia faba L.) meal to give 2.05% N, fish meal to give 2.41% or maize dextrin to give 0.10% N were each offered to sixteen 12-week-old pullets for a 2-h period each day over a week. At 13 weeks of age 4 birds from each group were killed 2, 4, 6 or 8 h after the feeding period.
