Studies on the production of Duboisia in Japan. I. The germination of Duboisia myoporoides (1)

, : Studies on the production of Duboisia in Japan. I. The germination of Duboisia myoporoides (1). Japanese Journal of Tropical Agriculture 16(2): 85-90

D. myoporoides seeds held at constant temperatures of 10, 20 or 40 deg C did not germinate at all, and those held at a constant 30 deg showed only 2% germination. The best germination was obtained with a combination of 15 deg for 5 h and 30 deg for 19 h, or with 10 and 30 deg for 16 and 8 h, respectively. Gibberellin also promoted germination, the optimum treatment being 100 p.p.m. for 48 h or 200 p.p.m. for 24 h.
